Title: Perpetual Subsistence
11" x 30" Cold Press board, Ink
Signed: July, 2005All that lives depends on some form of sustenance to nourish itself and grow. Flora and fauna both require basic necessities such as water, air or light to continue its life cycle. As well, all living things must consume another form of life. All that consumes shall be consumed whether in life or after death nothing can escape the immensity of nature. It was my intention to depict the whole scope of nature as one interdependent being which is symbolized as a serpent that consumes itself, and in-turn expelling new life to be consumed again in an ongoing cycle.
